I’ve been revisiting songs I used to know. That alone hurts the experience of playing through their site, but they’ve recently taken things a step even further. To close some of these ads, you have to choose an option with some rude line like “No thanks, I don’t want to be good at guitar”. These tabs and chords are user submitted, so the site isn’t doing anything but hosting them. I’m sure it’s useful for some people, but I’m fine with just the tabs. These ads are always for their “Pro” service. They started popping up randomly, blocking out the entire screen, and often have incredibly hard to find close options. I told myself, ‘fine, it’s a business and they have to make money somehow’. Now I avoid it at all costs as it provides the shittiest possible user experience of any website I use. It used to be an incredibly deep, easy to use site. I’ve been using since I first started playing in 2004.
